Description

This unit introduces the student to a variety of essential facts, principles and concepts from Human Biology, focusing on the following topics:1. Human body systems (e.g. respiratory and circulatory systems, nervous systems, the musculo-skeletal system, reproductive system, immune system).2. Regulation and control (e.g. homeostasis).3. Nutrition, health and disease (e.g. risk factors, incidence, screening and treatments).Foundations of Biology B is designed to be taken with Foundations Biology A, extending and applying key principles and concepts to new topics. The course is designed so that knowledge and understanding of core principles and concepts studied in Biology A are applied and extended in the topics studied in Biology B.
